It is important to report Road Traffic Casualties to your local Badger group as a lot of information can be gleaned. Sometimes Injured badgers can be rescued and rehabilitated and then released back to the wild. Unfortunately many such as this badger either die instantly or crawl off, dig a shallow hole and then curl up and die. Members of the group can check the dead badgers for any unusual signs such as poisoning, illegal use of snares, baiting or for lactating sows. Further investigations could then be followed up.
